Global Relay for SendSafely

For financial services organizations, secure file exchange is only half the equation. The other half, and often harder part is compliance. From FINRA to SEC requirements, firms must not only protect sensitive data in transit, but also ensure that communications and documents are properly retained, supervised, and auditable. Today, we’re excited to announce a powerful new integration that bridges that gap: SendSafely now supports automated export to Global Relay.

With SendSafely Actions and the Global Relay Open Connector, all exchanged information is automatically preserved in the Global Relay Archive, giving organizations a single, unified system for compliant record keeping. Once installed, organizations can:

Compliance teams can now supervise SendSafely communications just like email and messaging, within a single system and without compromising SendSafely’s zero knowledge secure file exchange.

Frequently asked questions

Can SendSafely file transfers be archived in Global Relay?

Yes. Using SendSafely Actions and the Global Relay Open Connector, SendSafely package contents are automatically exported, decrypted, and preserved in the Global Relay Archive. Compliance teams can then supervise SendSafely communications alongside email and messaging in one system. See the Global Relay integration for details.

What SendSafely activity is captured in the Global Relay archive?

The archive captures Workspace file uploads, outbound file transfers, inbound file collection including Dropzone packages, and file metadata and recipient details. This gives compliance teams a complete, contextual record of each SendSafely interaction inside Global Relay.

Which regulations does the SendSafely Global Relay integration help address?

The integration helps firms meet FINRA, SEC, MiFID II, and other regulatory requirements related to document archiving. It is aimed at financial services and fintech teams that must retain, supervise, and audit communications and documents, not just protect them in transit.

How do I set up the SendSafely Global Relay integration?

Setup has four steps: work with Global Relay to enable your SendSafely archive feed and receive credentials, request the Global Relay Action (an AWS CloudFormation template) from SendSafely, configure the Actions workflow with event triggers and data filters in the portal, then activate and confirm data is reaching your archive.

What infrastructure do I need for the Global Relay Action?

You need AWS infrastructure capable of deploying a Lambda function, because the Global Relay Action is delivered as an AWS CloudFormation template. External SendSafely Actions run in your own AWS environment, so decryption happens inside your perimeter rather than on SendSafely’s side.
