The team routinely receives large amounts of personnel data while on-boarding new clients. The vast majority is highly sensitive and could lead to identity theft if it ends up in the wrong hands, so ensuring it is secure at all times is an extremely high priority.
EU Data Protection law also mandates that organisations collecting confidential personal information protect it from misuse and respect the rights of data owners. Cezanne needed an easy data collection solution that got data quickly from new customers while upholding that responsibility.

From Secure FTP overhead to browser-only file collection
Prior to SendSafely, Cezanne HR ran an in-house file exchange built on secure FTP. “There was a lot of overhead associated with using Secure FTP,” says Hixon. “We were constantly managing new accounts and making sure files were deleted once they were no longer needed.”
- Step 01Removing Friction
It was not uncommon for a customer’s firewall to block outbound access to the FTP port. SendSafely transfers happen over HTTPS, on the same ports used to browse the web, and uploaded files expire and delete automatically based on the configured security policy.
- Step 02Requesting Files
The on-boarding team uses Request Files to obtain data from new clients. Requesting is as simple as entering an email address — SendSafely creates and authenticates the sender account as needed, letting the customer upload encrypted files with only a browser.
- Step 03Regional Isolation
Cezanne HR uses regional isolation, available to enterprise customers, to guarantee that customer data stays within a specific geographic region. SendSafely offers regional isolation for the EU (hosted in Ireland), Australia and the United States.
